Imagined futures are vivid even when present Tuesdays are mediocre.
Mediocre present can feel safer than sharp loss.
Safer is not the same as fair to everyone waiting.
Someone in the triangle may be married and afraid of losing home.
Someone may be single and afraid of losing the only daily warmth they know.
Someone may be you, afraid of losing both identities you perform.
Identities performed for different people drain energy you need for honest reflection.
Reflection is not a luxury.
It is how you avoid turning fear into permanent limbo.
Limbo feels like keeping love alive because nobody has said goodbye.
Goodbyes can be kinder than endless almost.
Almost is a word that starves people slowly.
You may fear that choosing one person proves you never loved the other.
Love and choice are not always proportional in ways hearts accept easily.
You can care about someone and still recognize the structure you are in damages everyone.
Recognition does not auto-generate action.
Action requires tolerating the grief of closed doors.
Closed doors sometimes reopen in life.
They cannot be held open ethically by deception indefinitely.
Fear of losing both can keep deception running longer than any single desire would.
That is loss aversion applied to people instead of money.
People are not portfolios.
