1. Who We Are
SsshhhOut is a community where you can express your thoughts freely while helping keep your identity private from other members. You can start conversations, ask questions, create polls, join groups, and connect with other members without the pressure of revealing your identity.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, retain, protect, and otherwise process personal data when you use SsshhhOut, including our mobile application, website, support, and related features (collectively, the “Service”).
Throughout this Privacy Policy, “SsshhhOut,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of the Service.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your personal data, please see Section 14 — Contact Us.
2. Where This Privacy Policy Applies
This Privacy Policy applies to your use of SsshhhOut, including:
- the SsshhhOut mobile application (iOS and Android);
- the SsshhhOut website and any web pages we operate, including those relating to legal notices, privacy, terms, support, FAQs, contact, and other information;
- our APIs, servers, backend systems, and related infrastructure that provide and support the Service; and
- any other products, features, services, or experiences that link to or reference this Privacy Policy and are made available under the SsshhhOut brand.
For simplicity, we refer to all of these collectively as the “Service” throughout this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy applies whether you:
- use Guest Mode (device-based browsing without a verified mobile-number account); or
- create and use a registered account with a verified mobile number.
From time to time, certain features or services may be accompanied by additional privacy notices or disclosures. Where applicable, those notices supplement this Privacy Policy and, to the extent of any inconsistency, will govern your use of the relevant feature or service.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, services, or applications that may be linked from or integrated with the Service. We are not responsible for the privacy, security, or content of third-party websites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policies.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Terms, including our Community Guidelines. The Terms also contain additional information about account management, Guest Mode, Device Permissions, Delete Account, account and device restrictions, and other features of the Service.
3. Data We Collect
To run a community where you can browse, post, reply, join groups, and chat, we need to collect and process certain personal data — and using the Service generates additional personal data automatically.
We aim to collect only the personal data that is reasonably necessary to provide, operate, secure, improve, and support the Service.
The categories of personal data we collect are described below.
We do not make your mobile phone number available to other members or use it for public discovery, advertising, or marketing to other members, except where you voluntarily choose to share it with another member or third party. Your mobile phone number is used primarily for account verification, authentication, security, and other purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Personal Data You Provide
| Categories | Description |
|---|---|
| Account Data | We collect information required to create, verify, secure, and manage your account, including your mobile phone number and account-related information. Your mobile phone number is used for authentication and account security and is not shown to other members in the community UI on your public profile, posts, groups, or other community content. |
| Age and Eligibility Data | You provide your date of birth during registration for age verification. You must meet the minimum age for your region (min 18+ years old, or higher where law requires). Your date of birth is used for eligibility checks and is not shown to other users. We do not verify age with government identity documents in the ordinary signup flow. |
| Legal Acceptance Data | When you accept our Privacy Policy, Terms, or other legal notices, we record your acceptance to demonstrate compliance with our legal obligations and to maintain appropriate records. |
| Profile Data | When you create or update your profile, you may provide information such as your display name, display gender, and age range. This information is used to personalise your profile and may be visible to other members as part of your public community profile. Your profile information is intended for community display and does not necessarily represent your legal identity. |
| Preferences and Settings | We store your preferences and settings, such as your Hide Mature Content, Sound, Haptic, and Language preferences, so we can personalise your experience and remember your choices across the Service where applicable. |
| User Content | When you use signed-in features, you may create and share content through the Service, including posts, replies, polls, challenges, reactions, groups (such as group names and descriptions), chat messages, reports, and other content you choose to submit. |
| Chat Data | When you use chat features, we collect and process your chat messages and related information necessary to provide and maintain conversations. We use this information to provide and maintain chat functionality, support safety features, investigate reports, enforce our Terms, including our Community Guidelines, and protect the integrity of the Service. |
| Support, Reports, and Safety Data | When you contact us, submit a report, block another member, or otherwise interact with our support or safety features, we collect the information you provide, such as the details of your enquiry, report, or request. We may also receive reports submitted by other members about your account or content and collect additional information where reasonably necessary to review reports, investigate potential violations, enforce our Terms, including our Community Guidelines, respond to requests, and protect the safety and integrity of the Service. |
Personal Data We Collect Automatically
| Categories | Description |
|---|---|
| Usage Data | We automatically collect information about your activity within the Service, including your sign-in activity, content you view, and other interactions with the Service. We use this information to provide, operate, maintain, improve, protect, analyse, and better understand the Service. |
| Device and Technical Data | When you use the Service, we automatically collect certain technical information about your device and connection, such as your device identifiers, device model, operating system, app version, language settings, IP address, and other technical information necessary to provide, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service. We may also collect diagnostic and crash information to help identify and resolve technical issues. |
| App Performance and Attribution Data | We collect information about how the mobile app is downloaded, installed, and launched, and how it performs, including install and launch events, campaign or referral information, deep-link data, and related analytics events. We use this information, including through AppsFlyer, to measure app performance, understand how people find and open the Service, and improve the product. On iOS, some of this measurement may depend on your App Tracking Transparency choice, as described in Section 4. |
| Session and Security Data | We collect information about your account sessions, sign-in activity, devices used to access the Service, and security-related events. We also maintain security and server logs to help protect accounts, detect and prevent fraud, investigate abuse, provide support, enforce our Terms, and comply with legal obligations. |
| Moderation and Enforcement Data | Where reasonably necessary, we may collect and retain information relating to reports, moderation, investigations, and enforcement actions involving your account, device, or content. This information helps us investigate potential violations, enforce our Terms, including our Community Guidelines, protect the safety and integrity of the Service, comply with legal obligations, and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. |
Other Personal Data We Collect
| Categories | Description |
|---|---|
| Location Data | If you enable location services and grant permission, we may collect your approximate location to provide location-based features, such as nearby content and location information associated with posts or groups you create. If you choose not to grant location permission, some location-based features may be unavailable or may not function as intended. |
You are not required by law to provide personal data to us. However, if you choose not to provide certain information, some features or parts of the Service may not be available or may not function properly.
4. Cookies, SDKs, and Device Technologies
SsshhhOut is primarily a mobile application. Our mobile app uses software development kits (SDKs), local storage, secure storage, authentication tokens, device identifiers, and similar technologies to provide, operate, maintain, secure, measure, and improve the Service.
These SDKs include:
- AppsFlyer, which we use to measure app performance, downloads, installs, launches, and related analytic data, including campaign or referral attribution and deep links;
- Google Firebase services, including Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) for in-app usage analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics for crash and stability reporting; and
- other SDKs needed to operate chat, notifications, and related application infrastructure, as described in Section 7.
App Tracking Transparency (iOS)
On iPhone and iPad, Apple requires apps to request your permission through App Tracking Transparency (ATT) before using certain data for tracking across other companies’ apps and websites. We may show this prompt during first-time setup. If you allow tracking, we may use this permission to improve personalisation and help connect you to the right content, invites, and referral links, and to support app performance and attribution measurement (including through AppsFlyer). If you decline, the Service still works; some measurement or personalisation features may be limited. You can change this later in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking (wording may vary by iOS version) or through Profile → Manage Account → Device Permissions.
This ATT prompt is not shown on Android.
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to provide core functionality, remember preferences, improve performance, enhance security, and understand how the website is used. Where you accept Analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 (loaded via Google’s gtag / Google Tag Manager scripts) to measure website traffic and interactions. Where required by applicable law, we will obtain your consent before using non-essential cookies or similar technologies. For more detail, see our Cookie Policy below.

Automated Processing and Moderation
To help keep SsshhhOut safe and maintain the integrity of the Service, we use AI-assisted moderation tools together with human review to identify content or behaviour that may violate our Terms or Community Guidelines, or that may require a Mature label.
Automated systems assist our moderation processes and may help identify potentially problematic content, prioritise reports, detect spam, fraud, abuse, or other policy violations, and support moderation decisions. Depending on the circumstances, content may be labelled, held for review, restricted, removed, or otherwise acted upon in accordance with our policies, and moderation decisions may be based on automated analysis, human review, or a combination of both.
Automated systems are not always accurate and may incorrectly identify or classify content. Human moderators review reports and, where appropriate, a subset of content and enforcement actions.
If you believe content has been incorrectly labelled, restricted, or removed, or that an enforcement action has been applied in error, you may contact us to request a review. If you believe content or behaviour violates our Terms or Community Guidelines, you may also report it through the Service or by contacting us. See Section 14 — Contact Us.
Aggregated and De-identified Information
We may aggregate, anonymise, or de-identify personal data so that it can no longer reasonably identify you. We may use such information for analytics, research, improving the Service, safety, product development, and other lawful business purposes.

SsshhhOut is intended only for individuals who are min 18+ years old, or the higher minimum age required by the laws of their country of residence. Individuals who do not meet the applicable minimum age must not use the Service.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from, or permit the registration of, individuals who are below the applicable minimum age. We verify eligibility using date of birth provided during registration, but we may take additional steps to verify eligibility or restrict, suspend, or remove accounts where we reasonably believe a member does not meet the applicable age requirement.

The Effective Date at the beginning of this Privacy Policy indicates when the current version became effective. Your continued use of the Service after that date constitutes your acknowledgement of the updated Privacy Policy, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
